Dear Nugget,
I have a feeling about you. I have a feeling you are going to like fruit, banana popsicles, and sunshine. I have a feeling you aren't going to like Mexican food (which breaks my heart, by the way). I could be wrong, but this is my sense. It could be because fruit and banana popsicles seem to make me feel fantastic! Mexican food, not so much. And, the oddest thing happened while I was on vacation. I got sick on the way down (I'll blame it on your Daddy's driving), and didn't get sick the entire week, until the last night. It was like you wanted me to enjoy my vacation. But, of course, I was giving you fruit and banana popsicles. I was actually starting to believe that you were ready to settle in to the comfortable 2nd trimester, until the last night of vacation, the trip home, and ever since. It's okay I suppose, but just so you know, you are grounded.
We got home from vacation with your Nan, Pop, Aunt Amy, Teresa, Larry, and Daddy on Saturday. We had a great time at the beach. Pop, Larry, and Jeff did some fishing. We went to see the sites at St. Augustine, spent some time on the beach, and played putt putt! Nan got pretty sick, but she's tough, she can handle anything! (And don't you forget it. It's where you come from!) On Sunday, I slept all day. I guess the trip took a lot out of me. While I was sleeping, your Daddy did the nicest thing. He put together a care package for my trip back to Lexington full of snacks that are low in sugar and sodium. That isn't an easy task. He even put a travel tooth brush and some mouthwash in there. It was so nice to know that I could come to work and not have to worry about how to keep the lack of food nauseousness from hitting. He drives me bonkers sometimes, and he will you too, but then there are these moments, and they happen all the time. He will always be more thoughtful than I am!
In terms of how I'm feeling otherwise, I have an ankle swelling issue that is not pretty, so I have been elevating, lowering my sodium, and sleeping on my left side.
According to all estimates, you are now about 2 inches long, are growing hair follicles, fingernails, and ovaries (if you're a girl). You have distinct human characteristics by now, with hands and feet in front of the body, ears nearly in their final shape, open nasal passages on the tip of your tiny nose, a tongue and palate in the mouth, and visible nipples.
You are growing up so fast. Well, dear Nugget, I must part. Until next week!
Smooches!
