Parenting thoughts

Dear Nugget,
I had a funny thought today. I thought to myself,"self, will you use
the same tactics with Nugs that your parents used?" Then, I thought
about which stories of creative parenting truly stick out from my
childhood. I won't tell all of them because a girl has to have some
things up her sleeve. Relistically speaking, all in all, I would say I
turned out pretty good. But, in the event that we do something in the
way of discipline that you think is tough, maybe, just maybe, you will
have some perspective. For example, one night while doing my homework,
my mom peered over my shoulder and told me it was too messy and to
start over. She took my paper away, and wouldn't even let me use the
answers I had already had. I had to start over! Then I had to listen
to a brief story about pride in your work, and not putting your name
on something you can't be proud of. This is one example, but Nan and
Pop were no joke. There will be more that come to mind.

Another thought I had today is that people in my age group are
sometimes referred to as children of the eighties. Will you be a child
of the teens? Sounds weird.

I am beginning to think about meeting you. I've met many people in my
life but have never felt so excited or curious as I am when I think
about meeting you.

Sorry this blog is so all over the place. It's very random thoughts
these days, and I don't want you to miss out!
