You got to go to the zoo two times this past week and you are so much more interested in the animals than you were. You also liked the splash park. We got to have dinner woth the Congletons as well! So good seeing those boys! And Terri too! Then on Saturday, we went with the Sizemores and Tracey, Carrie, and Tiffany's parents to the lake. Zane and Tess went too, of course. It was such a good time. You were so good. You played in the baby pool on the pontoon for a long time and seemed to like it! You also loved seeing the water come out the back!
You also got your first salon cut! You were so good! You just watched tv.
Well, Aunt Kelly and Uncle Forrest are moving to Nashville again. I'm sad but so proud of her! I know we will be around each other again very soon! I miss her already. Odds are we will see more of them!
One of the things that I loved about spending time with the Congletons, is seeing Levi shake my hand. It actually inspired me to write. I wanna share with you a couple of things about the business world that will help you in any transaction:
1) A good hand shake is critical for a good impression.
2) Assume pure motives. People want to do good work.
3) Offer your thoughts when your contribution will move the meeting forward or to ask a good question. Sometimes, there are such things as a bad question. And, when you do, do so with confidence. No wavering, apologizing, or overly feminizing your tone. Speak clearly and audibly. Make eye contact.
4) Be smart and prepared.
5) Never assume that the people who are making the decision actually read your resume or the info you provided beforehand.
6) Understand the data.
7) Be right. A lot. Study on your own time. Expect nothing but continued employment for what you do, and you will be surprised.
8) Never leave a job because of your boss. People recognize ineptitude.
9) When you have sold your idea, stop talking.
10) People love to talk about themselves. Let them. It builds relationships. And the one to grow on.....
11) No one will care what you know til they know you care. There isn't a single fact that will change how someone feels. Allow people to express their emotions freely, and Then introduce facts. Receptivity is increased ten-fold.
And that's a few. I'm sure we will discuss more over the years!
Right now, you are crawling like a mad woman, cruising, and I to everything. You are still a good sleeper. You play peekaboo, and you also tend to like cuddling with something soft. You give good hugs. You also are doing some big ole kisses. You love playing with the air purifier. You love music and dancing.
I love you, baby
~Mom
